Meet Our Team
Derrick Burpo is the Executive Director of Infinity Foundation. As a Colorado native, he lives with his wife and two young boys and enjoys hiking, camping and golfing. He brings over 18 years management, strategic organization, and customer service experience. His vision to help those impacted by disability reach their highest quality of life is the basis for Infinity Foundation. Taking over as President/CEO of the Goldstar Foundation in 2017, Derrick rebranded the organization and redesigned the focus and concept of the mission and vision to Infinity Foundation. Along with his experience, Derrick is driven by his passion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Derrick has been a volunteer for 9 years in multiple organizations who serve the population throughout the Denver Metro area. Using his strengths in building strong relationships, instructing and developing leaders, and delivering strong results, Derrick strives to make a difference for this population to enhance the quality of lives impacted by disabilities. Derrick has a certification Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and has received management and operations accolades throughout his career. Previously, he worked in Operations leadership for Home Depot for 13 years, and multiple retail management prior for 5 years.
Katie Svihlik Burpo is the owner and director of GoldStar Learning Options, Inc, a Certified SLPA and Behavior Interventionist. She grew up in a home with a sibling with developmental differences and recognized the many challenges families face every day, and later has a son with an early diagnosis of sensory processing disorder. Katie has dedicated her life to making a difference in the lives of those impacted by developmental differences. She has been working with individuals privately and as a member of schools and interdisciplinary centers since 2001. Her training and supervision include: Applied Behavior Analysis, Verbal Behavior, Floor time, American Sign Language, Augmentative Therapy, and Interdisciplinary Intervention. She truly believes in the most effective strategies for each person receiving services. Katie, as a sister and mother of individuals with disabilities, is dedicated to supporting any way she can to develop skills to ensure continuing progress and improvement in the lives of those affected with disabilities. She believes that every individual can learn and progress while having a meaningful and purposeful in life.
Rachael is from South Carolina originally, born and raised a beach girl who decided to become a mountain girl after graduating from College of Charleston. She absolutely loves the outdoors and is a die-hard Bronco fan. She has been with GoldStar since fall of 2012. Rachael has a true eagerness and passion to help our families receive the best quality and quantity of services to meet their individual needs. Rachael truly wants to help bring awareness of all funding out there for families and help bridge the gap for families to feel fully supported by GoldStar. She believes every child, adult, and family deserve to feel like their voice is being heard and she will always strive to find a solution for every family’s individualized needs.
